OLS Academy prides itself on providing industry with high caliber Graduate Paramedics.
During their studies, some graduates may qualify for additional recognition, over and above their Diploma in Primary Care Paramedicine from OLS Academy.
Awards & Recipients:
Top Achiever
This is an annual award given to the graduate with the highest grade in the academic environment.
The graduate must also be in compliance with all academic policies and have no disciplinary actions on their record.

Valedictorian
This is an annual award that is voted on by members of the graduating class.
The graduate is elected to represent the class during the graduation ceremony and to provide the final farewell.

Rising Star
This is not an annual award and is only issued should there be a member of the graduating class who qualifies.
The award is issued based on Faculty and/or Administration nomination.
The graduate must have demonstrated tremendous growth during their studies at OLS Academy.

True Grit
This is not an annual award and is only issued should there be a member of the graduating class who qualifies.
The recipient must have faced challenges in their journey to become a Paramedic, that without a strong character and unwavering resolve, would have otherwise resulted in failure.

Diploma in Primary Care Paramedicine - with Distinction:
To be granted a Diploma in Primary Care Paramedicine - with Distinction, the Graduate must:

The Awards Committee will consider awarding a distinction to graduates who have achieved a minimum overall grade of 95% or higher in the academic environment.

In addition, the Awards Committee will take into account factors such as compliance with policies, as well as performance in the Ambulance Preceptorship and Clinical Practicum environments.
